My Big Message this Saturday morning to my constituents in Wednesfield North is that the Ashmore Park Community Association in celebration of their 20 years of serving our community, and they have put together an exciting and completely free event. This event is taking place today ( Saturday 10th September) at The Hub at Ashmore Park.
The event runs from 11am to 3pm -so do not miss it – come along!
The Community Association have created a fabulous day of activity for family and friends, with a very significant Public Event taking place at its heart with the unveiling of a Wolverhampton Civic Society Blue Plaque, which will be fitted to The Hub.
The iconic Blue Plaque depicts the Mining History of Ashmore Park. It is the first Wolverhampton Civic Society Blue Plaque to be unveiled in Wednesfield…so in itself is a little piece of history in the making! Most of us never give a thought to how our estate came to be built or what was here prior to the housing estate being constructed. This Blue Plaque lifts the history and creates an important link between the past and the present!
I want to pay my tribute to the Volunteers that run and operate the Ashmore Park Community Association. They are as it is said ‘Volunteers’, but the effort and determination that goes into the APCA, turns out these wonderful community events that fills The Hub with people and laughter and friendship.
Today will be an exciting and ground breaking event in itself.
The Express and Star is sending a photographer, there will be lots to see and do for families and young people.
My Big Message is for you to come along and witness, take part in, and enjoy yourself on a really significant day here in our Ward of Wednesfield North……
