The results being provided to me informs that yesterday the 9th February that the testing station is being well used at The Hub on Ashmore Park located on Griffiths Drive. Here are the results.
• 1663 residents have now passed through the doors to be tested, since the operation started on the 21 January 2021.
• 54 individuals have received a Positive reading. All were asked to isolate.
• 1600 of those tested have left testing station clear in the knowledge that they had tested negative.
Councillor Phil Bateman said “Lets celebrate that 1600 individuals that have come to be tested have left relieved that they indeed have tested negative!
Those 54 individuals that were asked to isolate, were asked to do so because of the need to cut the passing of infection. Clearly the testing is working because the growth rate in infections in our local community appears to be reducing.
But now is not the time to take our ‘peddle off the gas’. We need even more people in our community to test. Ideally every seven days or so. I would appeal to local shops, retail, industrial and educational units, to encourage your staff to pop along to the Hub and get tested.
We need to keep driving those Covid-19 figures downwards. Please do your bit for the community if you can.”
