Councillor Phil Bateman MBE City of Wolverhampton Council said “Well we approach Christmas Day and inevitably the beginning of the next New Year at pace. I was chatting today with Mr Mark Welsby, General Manager of Saville’s Bentley Bridge Leisure Park in Wednesfield.
I asked Mark what kind of year the Bentley Bridge Leisure Park has had?
We spoke about the fabulously successful two-day event in August when the Wednesfield Canal Festival took place. Saville’s are our partner at the Wednesfield Canal Festival, along with our local volunteer’s group ‘Hands on Wednesfield’. The Wednesfield Canal Festival was a standout success, and over the two days in August, when we worked together to deliver the event, we had 10,000 visitors enter Bentley Bridge Leisure Park. The Canal Festival visitors enjoyed the Narrowboats, the ‘floating market’ the Craft Stalls, The Fun Fair, the Leisure Park with all its restaurants and Indoor sports and the cinema. Plus, The Nickelodeon (another partner in the Canal Festival) and the Hollywood Bowl for ten -pin bowling. “
Mark Welsby General Manager Bentley Bridge told me that “We leave 2023 on a positive note with UK Leisure Sales for 2023 averaging a 6.0% increase, this is amidst pressures our customers face with soaring energy bills and high inflation.
Wednesfield offer an experience and a destination to enjoy, with free parking with no restrictions for our customers so there are no additional pressures, they can just relax and have fun! As we look towards 2024 we will as always continue to ensure Bentley Bridge Leisure Park remains a safe, clean, vibrant and of course fun place to visit, either on your own or with friends and family.”
Mark Welsby then added “Keep an eye on our Website and Socials in the New Year for an exciting New Opening! and of course we are looking forward to hosting the Wednesfield Canal Festival again”
So, the year 2023 is in its final days.
Councillor Bateman added “We now will start looking at 2024 for an uplift of fortunes, and make a wish for a Happy and Prosperous New Year, oh! and not forgetting Mark Welsby’s tip to keep an eye open for a new and exciting ‘opening’ to come.”
