I understand that the Birmingham Snow Hill tram service will stop using Snow Hill rail station after the last tram on Saturday 24th October for closure of Snow Hill on the 25th October.
The trams travelling from Wolverhampton will stop at St Paul’s tram stop and the final link into the City Centre will be by tram passengers having to switch to a bus.
This arrangement I hope will only exist for a short timescale, as I fear that the delays, and the longer journey times incurred, will drive present customers off the tram service very quickly. That will have a knock on effect and could trouble the operators financial expectations.
The drivers of this scheme Centro, really must keep the contractors focussed on finishing the tram extensions quickly. Any further lengthy delays to linking Snow Hill with Birmingham New street (Grand Central) would be very worrying indeed for current tram passengers.
