Armed Forces Day – Wolverhampton & Wednesfield Gives Support

I just want to dwell on the Armed Forces Day on Saturday. Wolverhampton turned out to give their service personnel a huge support. The City service in Wolverhampton based around the Drum Head service was well attended.

Here in Wednesfield we also played a supporting role, and that was marvellous.

The Ashmore Inn proved its worth following its success escaping from being closed and demolished. This Community Interest Inn put on a magnificent day of events on its car park, that attracted Wolverhampton North East MP Emma Reynolds. Plus the City of Wolverhampton Mayor Councillor Ian Brookfield, and his Mayoress Councillor Paula Brookfield, along with  Wednesfield North and South Councillors, Rita Potter Mary Bateman, me! and Councillor Greg Brackenridge.

I am informed that more than 1,000 Ashmore Parkers turned up and visited taking part in the events and exhibitions, put on by veterans of the Staffordshire Regiment.

Then last night we attended a marvellous show put on by the Royal British Legion Woodend Branch to round the day off. I just wanted to thank all those that went out of their way to support and attend these events. I just love representing Wednesfield on these occasions!IMG_6114 Ashmore Inn Tug of War
