Be Proud -CoW food hub!

Latest news from the food hub

I hope Wednesfield residents will feel some pride in the way in which The City of Wolverhampton, has reacted and the speed that we reacted to get this development up and operating.

The City of Wolverhampton’s Food Distribution Hub at Aldersley remained operational over Good Friday, Saturday, and Easter Monday to ensure that the city’s most vulnerable residents continued to receive food packages. A huge 958 packages were delivered over the Easter weekend, with Easter eggs and hot cross buns included in the contents.

As of Wednesday (15/4/2020) yesterday morning, a total of 4183 food packages have been delivered across the city since the hub’s launch. The hub is now delivering around 330 packages per day and continues to provide same-day service for any urgent calls escalated through the Stay Safe Be Kind call centre.

Without a doubt transforming Aldersley into the important food distribution hub, training and then staffing, using fantastic volunteers has been a real initiative that is worthy of huge pride for our City.
