Big Role for Emma!
Tonight The Labour Party announced that newly re-elected Emma Reynolds MP. Has been asked to take the Local Government Shadow role. This is one of the big Portfolio’s of Government.
The Wolverhampton North East MP, had previously acted as a Shadow Minister in Housing.
The new role will mean a lot of miles up and down the Country for Emma, as she gets to grips with town after town, city after city, community after community, their gripes, their misfortune, and their misery!
These will be a long five years for anyone faintly involved in Local Government. I offer my ‘good wishes’ to my MP, and a message “You will need all your enthusiasm, your energy, and your optimism for the responsibility you have been given.”
But you also have a ‘stonkin’ set of election results here in this Great City to draw experience from! The Labour Party in Wolverhampton has galvanised its public support here. Three City MP’s and 48 Labour Councillors, the biggest Labour Group in the history of the Council. All of us committed to fighting for fair and better deals for Wolverhampton citizens! Now that is a fact to draw upon as the going gets tough.
