Leaving National Express
Well there you have it then. Just more evidence that the 'day job' I do for National Express is valued by one of the leading local newspapers here in the region.
How do I know that? Well a nice little tale appeared in last week's edition of the much respected journal 'PR Week' .
In an article on the role of Public Relations Officers, Steve Dyson the Birmingham Mail's editor gives a little praise to me for being able to articulate the company's messages both to the newspapers and their local journalists.
I am pleased with that recognition as it is something that I have worked hard at developing since I have been in the public relations industry and working for Travel West Midlands.
Now with the end of the month fast approaching and a change of role beckoning, plus a tough election to fight as well! Steve Dyson's comments have raised my moral no end!
There is also good news on the horizon as well for Stuart Henry. Many of you will know Stuart. He has worked along side me for six years. During my Mayoral year Stuart put in even more time on behalf of National Express (TWM). It was his actions by covering my duties, as well as his own, which allowed me to carry out my civic duties on behalf of the City.
Stuart has told me this morning that in May he will be joining Arriva Cross Country in a managerial role within their communications department.
I wish Stuart well in his new role, and would like to thank him for all his efforts. He has an outstanding career ahead of him!
