Peacock Avenue Highway Work
Councillor Phil Bateman said I have received information that explains that the footway maintenance work in Peacock Avenue undertaken by the Local Authority is imminent..
This will include replacing the concrete flag footways with tarmac and replacement of kerbs. At the same time The Local Authority intends to provide vehicular footway crossings (drop kerbs) wherever possible to houses that do not presently have them. This will be followed by the repair and resurfacing of the road at which time I will write to you again with further information.
The footway work should take approximately 20 weeks to complete. To minimise disruption and delay the Local Authority would be grateful if vehicles could be parked off the road during the work.
Access for residents will be maintained as far as possible but that at certain times when work is taking place directly in front of the entrance to your property vehicular access may be temporarily restricted. Site staff will be on hand to assist with any difficulties.
I am told that every effort to complete the job as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to minimise the disruption caused.
Be aware that householders are sometimes approached by firms claiming to be Council contractors and offering to undertake work such as surfacing drives. Please note that no contractor is authorised by this Council to carry out such work.
In the meantime if you have any questions or require further information please do not hesitate to contact Simon May on 01902 555743.
