Bateman Acts On Garbage-Contacts Walsall MBC

I have again been on the walkways that run between Coppice Farm Estate and Ashmore Park, meeting residents and speaking with them. What has been drawn to my my attention over the week is the rubbish, broken glass and cans that have been strewn in copse, thickets and hedgerows on the Walsall MBC side of the boundary.
My constituents in Wednesfield complain to me about the build up of this rubbish and do not like the idea of vermin breeding in the garbage. They feel that everytime they look out of their windows the garbage is noticeable. There is carpet strips that have been abandoned.

There are bottles and cans in the thickets and copse and along the hedgerow that have been discarded, and broken glass is littering the pathway. But what I am most concerned about is the amount of tinder and brush wood that has been cut and left to dry.

It is now so combustible that a careless flame or a deliberate act of arson would create huge problems for my constituents living in Simmons Road / Snape Road and Bucknall Road.

This scenario is not one of fantasy, for I know that the fire brigade has visited this location in previous times to damp fires that have been deliberately set.

Please can I urge Walsall MBC to take this complaint seriously and tidy and remove all the litter, bottles and cans. Plus removing the tinder and wood quickly from this site as soon as is practical.

Residents no matter where they live have the right to live in comfort and safety, and some of my constituents are feeling very uncomfortable at the present moment.

I have therefore written for the second time to Walsall MBC about the situation that is developing at this site.
