St Albans School

Residents living in Bucknall Road have been concerned about the ever increasing pile of rubbish and garbage that is being thrown over the school fence into a 'wild life copse' that the St Albans School has in a corner of the school field which runs close to the property of residents.
This debris is not of the schools making but is the 'left overs' of young people who use the walkways for their infamous drinking bouts. They then throw the bottles and cans over the school fence. This really is a tragedy because it is not the schools fault that the garbage is being thrown away onto their property, it is also not acceptable that residents should have to watch and see the garbage visibly growing.

Now the school have agreed to remove the rubbish, accepting with the removal, the costs of doing so financially.

I know that the residents will be pleased, but the real culprits will I am afraid get away with it .The school will be lumbered with finding the finance to tackle this mound of detritus and will I am sure be most upset in having to do so. Using school finances should of course be used for teaching children.

I do hope that the police will be able to clamp down on these 'drinking dens' during the summer and keep to a minimum the nuisance caused by young often underage drinkers looking for kicks . I will be writing to the police and the City Council urging them to help the school in not having to repeat this process at a later date.
