Today Thursday the 19th May 2016 your three Labour Councillors attended the Ashmore Park following reports that the ‘keep fit equipment’ had been vandalised.
All three of us were shocked at the damage caused. It is heavy duty equipment and very robust. But as you can see from the photograph an intense and destructive attack has reduced part of the equipment to scrap metal.

Now I really do want the community to know that we need to know who is vandalising the Park. We have a new Children’s Park being designed and installed here in our Park within weeks, for the youngest children in our community.
It’s so darn demoralising to have this type of mindless violence towards city council assets happen in this way.
How can we continue to argue for improvements and for even better facilities, when our current activities take such a hit!?
Now I know that we are a close knit community, and I know that someone will know who the culprits are. I beg you to tell me or the Police direct. We three Councillors – Mary, Rita, and I, are so upset at this latest moronic act, we really do want the public to help us identify who these rogues really are.

In the meantime I doubt if this piece of equipment will be replaced, and I am concerned that the remaining items will suffer the same fate. Please help us protect what we have….. If you know the people who did this REPORT them!
