We have seen a slight increase in shed breaks this week and are reminding residents to follow the below advice.

 Put Gravel on paths and driveways to alert you to someone approaching

 Fix a wooden trellis to the top of fences as if climbed, it will break, creating noise and attracting attention

 Ensure gates at the side or back of the house are kept locked with a good quality bolt and padlock

 Do not leave ladders lying around

 Install security lights to illuminate your garden

 Keep shrubs, hedges and large plants cut back

 The planting of a prickly hedge, such as firethorn, climbing rose or hawthorn, against existing fencing will act as a powerful deterrent

 Speak to your local garden centre about plants which provide natural protection

 If your shed has windows consider putting up net curtains

 Consider installing a battery operated shed alarm

 Chain cycles, mowers, ladder and tools together inside the shed

 Consider having lockable steel boxes fitted to the floor of your shed top store tools in

 Permanently mark your shed contents with your postcode

12/08/2015 – Attempt Burglary Dwelling on Thrushel Walk, Wednesfield. Offenders Climbed Wall At Side Of House And Have Tried To Force Open A Rear Window Breaking Off The Window Handle. No Neighbourhood Watch Crime Brief 3

Unknown Offender/S Have Gained Access To Rear Garden, Then Used Implement To Try And Prise Open The Insecure Doors, In An Attempt To Gain Entry Inside. Entry Also Attempted Via The Window, Causing Scuff Marks. No Entry Gained.

13/08/2015 – Attempt Burglary Other Building on Thrushel Walk, Wednesfield. Person(S) Unknown Have Come Down Driveway At Rear Of Premises Then Tried To Drill Lock On Garage Door Causing Damage To The Lock. No Entry Gained To Garage.

13/08/2015 – Burglary Dwelling on Leslie Road, Park Village. Unknown Offenders Have Smashed The Front Door To The House Leaving It Off Its Hinges. Offenders Have Then Entered, Made A Tidy Search And Made Good Their Escape Via Entry Point. Not Known If Anything Stolen.

Person(S) Unknown Have Approached Locked And Secured Vehicle And Splattered A Creamy/White Liquid, Sticky To Touch, Over The Windscreen, Covering A Large Area. The Substance Was Able To Be Removed By Tissue Paper Causing No Further Damage.
