Drainage Work Taking Place – Raj Kumar Drive

There is flooding issues that erupt from time to time at the rear of the Ashmore Park Shopping Parade on Raj Kumar Drive .

Throughout the summer I have been making the case for the drains to be checked, and a blockage removed from the drainage. The good news is that this will now take place.

Contractors will be attending the site on Friday 9th October 2020.

The Wolverhampton Homes team are responsible for the drainage at the shops, not the City of Wolverhampton Council.

This is what I have been informed – ” A camera survey has been carried out, which has identified a blockage, further work is therefore needed, which will be carried out on the above date.

The work which will be carried out is as follows: – excavation at the side of Number 74, Ashma Café, next to the gate for 98-130 Griffiths Drive to remove the blockage, if at this point it is identified that there is no gully (due to the blockage, they were unable to confirm this at the time of the camera survey), a gully will be installed during the excavation.”

I am pleased that there is some work taking place here, this is a problem that gets exacerbated during times of heavy rain.
