Information is fast moving with regard to updating you on Police Action with regarding to the activity by our local Police team against drugs here in Wednesfield. I can report that –
On Friday the 10th July 2015, as a direct result of the Wednesfield Neighbourhood Police team, a male was arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply. He was remanded in police custody in order to attend court. On Sunday 12th July 2015 (prior to the origin of this email), four males were stopped and searched in Pritchard Ave and found in possession of class B drugs. The offences were recorded and the males dealt with appropriately.
On Monday 13th July 2015, the Wednesfield Police Neighbourhood team executed a warrant under the misuse of drugs act at an address bordering Wednesfield North and South. A male has subsequently been interviewed. Enquiries on-going.
The Police want to make clear that they very much value our community supplying information to them, which they use as intelligence. But the Police are also working other information, and the recent action does not come solely as a result of just community information. The team are totally switched on to the issues of drug use and supply, and as such the action becomes part of their on-going brief/actions.
Councillor Phil Bateman said today” The police are involved in fast moving activity. Its good to know that there is some success against this particular crime. I am pleased that the combination of community information and good policing is having such good success.”
