I have had cause to intervene in a problem relating to the emptying of recycle waste bins in Gorse Road. These bins had not been emptied in weeks because of contamination issues. I intervened yesterday and managed to get the contractors to make a collection today.
Our Waste contractors Amey have again contacted me today stating that they “ have visited the flats at Gorse Road today. We have had the bins emptied, we have leafleted all of the properties and put stickers on the bins to let residents know what can and can’t go into the recycling bins.”
I am pleased that this action has taken place. There is a duty on residents to re –cycle and sort waste making sure they place the right type of waste, 
in the right bins.
In this case I am pleased to have been a service to residents. Plus I am pleased that Amey has also acted swiftly in attending to the problem.
