Governments Extra Resources For Tackling Pot Holes – Disgraceful Really!

Pot Holes are becoming a very serious issues for Local Authorities. The situation on Wolverhampton roads are degrading because of the Government cutting back Grants for Local Authority under their ‘Austerity’ programme.

We have always been proud of our highway maintenance here in the City. But now its getting to be as bad as some of the worst of our neighbouring authorities.

However I do hear that the Government has awarded Wolverhampton an extra £119,000 to spend on repairing pot holes in the City!

This amount of money could be spent in Wednesfield alone two or three times over!

So Mr Cameron whilst not being too ‘sniffy’ about the extra resource, the allocation is nowhere near big enough for a City our size or the size of the highway network we are trying to maintainIMG_5047. Disgraceful really!
