The Government are rumoured to be about to invest £5 Billion on new local Public Transport services.
My view is that Public transport in all its modes needs up grading as we move as Local Government, to deal with the impending climate crisis. Buses and trams, cycle lanes, and ‘moving pavements’ should all be part of a new and modern approach to the delivery of Public Transport. As for the investment in rail with HS2 as the cheerleader for the future. The rail scheme is much needed. It is a good investment!
We do need here in Wednesfield a new tram line to serve New Cross hospital, and Wednesfield, we need a new Tram line to the i54 site, and the Staffordshire county boundaries. With a stop at the Molineux Stadium. We need new buses, preferably electric, with fast frequent services. We need to rethink our City into districts where we can access, retail Leisure, and industry just n 15 minutes or so away from where we live.
There is a revolution coming driven by Climate change, we need to be as a Country up there with the leaders, and as a City we need to be leading by example with new thinking and very bold projects. We all need to reduce the carbon footprint.
