West Midlands mayoral race update
Conservative Andy Street and Labour candidate Siôn Simon are level-pegging on 33% of first preference votes in the race to become mayor of the West Midlands Combined Authority, according to a survey of almost 2,500 Trinity Mirror readers, which suggests given the expected low turnout, of just 20%, means it’s likely that second preference votes will be needed to decide the winner.
The survey shows that, while Street trails Labour in Birmingham and Wolverhampton, he has almost 50% of the vote in Solihull and almost 40% in Dudley.
I would urge all Wednesfield North and Wolverhampton voters to vote Sion Simon Labour , in this first ever West Midlands Mayoral vote.!
