Well I penned the story below to coincide with it being April 1st Just a bit of Tom Foolery!
Yes it was nothing but an April Fools Joke….However the Express and Star headline about Tettenhall wanting to split from Wolverhampton to go it alone, Captured every ones imagination! But the irony is that the Express and Star story is a true one! Any way Wednesfield is not having a Marina! Well not yet anyway, and no – we are not going to divert the Waddensbrook or the River Tame to construct one!
April Fool!
I always write about the best of Wednesfield, and I am always keen to mention our past history and our plans and proposals going forward. But today I want to support a really great project which would enhance our Village and place us firmly on the Map.
I want to support the call to divert the Waddensbrook and the River Tame in Willenhall to create a giant Marina in Wednesfield North that can become a huge draw for boaters and tourists alike. Accelerating our growing tourist traffic on the Wyrley and Essington canal.
