There is a family funeral taking place in Ryan Ave Ashmore Park on the 9th February at 8.40am.
As with all such activity there will be a lot of movement in the street as friends and family pay their last respects.
I have asked Oakmeadow School Head teacher to do what she can to try and assist the family who are planning the funeral, and restrict parents bringing their children to school in cars on this morning, which would allow a dignified departure from the family home for the funeral cortege
I am delighted to inform readers that the Head Teacher has agreed to contact parents by text warning them of the funeral and asking them for their help. Wolverhampton City Councils, Public Realm team will also assist, and West Midlands Police have also been informed. and I am hopeful that there will be a Police presence on the day.
Ryan Avenue and surrounding roads are normally very busy at this time of the day, with huge movements of vehicles in what is a very restricted local avenue. I do hope the parents of young children will make a decision to ‘walk’ their child to Oakmeadow school on this morning. Or take their car down to the Peacock Ave Car Park for safe dropping off. It would be quite upsetting for every one if the funeral cortege was in any way disrupted by the school run.
As for the family of the deceased I offer my deepest sympathy and condolences on behalf of your three Wednesfield North Labour Councillors.
