The Parker Road Garage Site on Ashmore Park has been the scene for a number of allegations of drug events and suspicious goings on at this site in recent months.
All of which has been reported to the Police and the Authorities by your team of Labour Councillors. I can now take the matter a stage further and inform you that Wolverhampton Homes have been given approval to seek to demolish and remove the existing void garages that are present on the site, and are causing an issue for local residents due to anti-social behaviour concerns and fly tipping.
A planning application has been submitted and upon receipt of approval for this they will programme in the demolition work.
Wolverhampton Homes will continue to monitor the site following the removal of the garages to avoid any further nuisance issues.
In addition to these works The City Council and Wolverhampton Homes are also looking at the site as a future development opportunity to build social housing on the former garage site.
This is not a guaranteed arrangement, but I am pleased to say that it is being actively pursued and would be a much better arrangement than the current situation. I will continue to offer you and publish information as I receive it.
