Pharmacies ready to deliver vaccines

Councillor Phil Bateman said today” I received the following briefing from the LGIU- which has scoured the national press, they have highlighted this article. I thought it may interest readers.”

Pharmacies ready to deliver vaccines
The pharmacy industry is urging the Government to use its high street network to accelerate the delivery of the newly approved Covid vaccine. The head of a leading pharmaceutical chain told the BBC rollout could be doubled if ministers opt to use the same supply chain as seasonal flu jabs. The Department of Health said it is in discussion with pharmacists about how they could support the vaccine delivery plan. Meanwhile, the Royal College of GPs has said that a “larger workforce” is needed for the vaccine rollout. A Government source said: “We are supremely confident in the infrastructure that’s in place. That’s going to be scaled up in coming weeks in line with the anticipated scaling up of supply.”
