Readers of this site will know that I have written to the Post Office regarding the sudden closure of the Post Office. I have now had a response from the business. Here is what Post Office say’s.
“The sudden closure of Wood End Post Office on 29 September 2015. The operator of the Wood End Post Office branch has had access to the premises withdrawn by their landlord in a dispute regarding their lease. The Postmaster is currently trying to resolve the issue with their landlord and gain access to the premises and restore services to customers. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience the temporary closure of the branch is causing but everything is being done to resolve the issue and restore services to customers as quickly as possible.”
I think from this report that residents can glean that there is still a will to have a Post Office in this location. Clearly there are issues with the lease. I am still trying to gain some understanding with regards to Post Office timescales. If this dispute rumbles on the customers currently using this particular Post Office will go elsewhere.
