I thought readers of my social media sites would like a little update on the changes that have been made to the access to our Wolverhampton Rail Station. Here is a report I have received from the Mr Colin Parr our Licensing Officer who informs that
“ Although the station area is not highway and is managed by Virgin Rail, City of Wolverhampton are providing a high level of resource over the next few weeks to help ‘set a tone’ for the new facilities going forward.
This includes a dedicated Civil Enforcement Officer on site during the day, and daily high visibility overt taxi compliance patrols.
These officers have a dual purpose, they are there to educate and inform about the new arrangements but also provide deterrent to those Taxis that may look to abuse the facility. Early indications are that the new layout is working well.
This information is placed on my site so that residents and users alike can see the way that the front of the station is being managed. I had cause to speak with British Transport Police and the CoW taxi officers following complaints I received about taxis poorly parking, and the antics that were taking place at the front of the old station previously.
