Replacement Of Light Column – Delay Due To Staff Shortage

There is a lamp on the corner of Linthouse Lane near the island with Griffith Drive that is not working after a car collided with it some time ago.

A resident reported the length of time the light has been out of order, and I have followed up the enquiry. This is the response that I have received. I am very grateful to that resident for bringing this to my attention.

images_articles_streetlight_797552124Street Light WarwickshireCity Council said ” We have spoken to Western Power regarding the transfer of the service into the new column in Linthouse Lane, they have confirmed a date of 7th November for the completion of work, if they have a slot they will try and complete it sooner.”

Residents should note that there is a further reason as to why there has been a delay in acting. It is that it appears that  Western Power currently have a staff shortage of jointers which is having an impact on jointing works (work that is required at Linthouse).

The  City council are responsible/own the column, and Western Power provides the power feed to the column.

Hopefully they will find the slot to deliver to this part of Linthouse Lane before the date they have given here.
