Local City Councillors play a big role in our community. Its not always an up front role, often it is behind the scenes issues. Negotiating, acting as an advocate. Sometimes having to argue for long periods of time. But always playing a role in community life, inside and outside of the City Council.

We are all very much together! It is the very nature of the role that the three of us play here in Wednesfield North all through the year. We choose to be ‘high profile’ within our community.
Sometimes we ‘win‘ our case easily, other times it takes much longer to achieve. The three Councillors, work individually and yet we are very much a team. Rita, Mary and Me! we all get on, and we all give each other support. We are all individuals, and some are better at some tasks than others. But we are altogether when it needs to be.
We believe we are very effective within our Community. We all take individual cases on, (Hundreds of them in a year!). We come together to tackle policy issues, and to discuss individuals needs and aspiration. We are very much a Labour team and all three of us are very proud of that fact.
We do lose out to the establishment at times. We aren’t ‘super- envoys’ but in the main we are effective. We work closely with the Council, the Police, and other Agencies. We also work with our Local Member of Parliament Emma Reynolds MP. If the issues we are asked to tackle are Government issues. We will refer them to Emma and liaise with our constituents.
I am proud of the role we play- I am also proud of the camaraderie we display, and the friendship we have. Wednesfield North benefits from all this activity and more….I hope you feel that you get ‘good value’ out of our hard work!
