Sunday Lunch With A Return to The Broadway!

Today Sunday, Mary and I visited our Local Pub the Broadway on the Lichfield Road here in Wednesfield North. We wanted to show some loyalty to the
Public House and Restaurant, because before the Pandemic and Corona Virus, we spent a lot of our leisure time having meals, meeting friends and even having the odd meeting in there
and enjoying the atmosphere.

But we haven’t been out in a Pub or Restaurant enjoying ourselves since March 13th. So it was with a little trepidation that we arranged our Sunday Lunch.

It was a great feeling as we strolled up the Lane in glorious sunshine. We had booked the table for two – a few days earlier with a time set at 13.00. We arrived on time and was welcomed by a friendly member of staff at the door. Broadway IMG_3682

They politely asked our name, checked the booking and then gave us a briefing giving the new rules a swift run through. All the drinks are ordered, a bar service operates and staff then bring you your drinks to your booked tables. You can order your meal via an Apt. But the Broadway needs to do a little bit more in boosting their WIFI! I was allowed to request our carvery at the Bar and we paid by credit Card. Just a couple of people at a time are allowed to tell the Chef what items they want on their carvery. Then a staff member brings the meal to you at your table. All the staff are wearing PPE and the Visors they use make the whole experience warm and safe! Broadway IMG_3677

The food was fab, the service was great, and the whole professional arrangement developed a real confidence in both of us. Gavin Salter The Gaffer, was a very good host. Explaining that safety and quality was the name of the game. Jan and the rest of the staff were full of smiles, and the place was spotless all the seats being cleaned after you vacate them. I thought it was a real good and professional approach. Yes we will be going back, and we will do all we can to boost our Local Economy in what is a very difficult time for business, and of course the jobs that business drives.

I can honestly say it was a lovely Sunday Lunch, cooked perfectly, at a reasonable price, and we turned an anxious start into an afternoon of enjoyment…Try it Out readers!
