Super Thursday! City Council Elections May 6th.

The Government has announced that the Local Elections will now go ahead. A third of the city’s 60 council seats (20) are up for election on Thursday May 6, alongside the Police and Crime Commissioner election and West Midlands Combined Authority Mayoral elections. It is being dubbed Super Thursday!

Here in Wednesfield North there will be one City Council seat that will be up for grabs! That is the one that I currently hold for the Labour Party.

The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Tuesday April 20. People must also be registered to vote by midnight on Monday April 19. More information on this is available via www.gov.uk You havent much time to get that request registered.

Wolverhampton has 60 seats across 20 wards, with a party needing more than 30 seats in order to take overall political control of the council. Five seats are currently vacant. Once elected, each councillor serves a four-year term.

Postal Votes will be crucial, so I would urge you to consider applying for a Postal Vote. I am still as keen to work for you as I was when I was first elected in Wednesfield North. I do hope that I will continue to attract your support.

I will continue to place information across my Social Media sites.
