The Shop Lifting Incidents Continue To Grow!

I start by stating that Wednesfield North is consistently amongst the Wards where the least number of crimes are committed in the City of Wolverhampton.
I am beginning however to be concerned about the number of increased shoplifting incidents that are being reported within Wednesfield North.
17-police-lampDuring 2016, the Police team  reported that shop theft had moved upwards to 50 incidents recorded over the whole year, this is a 56% increase in shop lifting activity.
This is 32 more individual incidents than occurred during the whole of 2015 here in our Ward!
I am sure that you like me do not want to see these incidents continue to grow unchecked.
Shop Lifting is not an innocent crime, it is not a crime that should just be accepted.
This is a crime that will affect everyone unless it is brought under control. We all know that the insurance companies survey post codes and tailor their insurance fees and charges to what happens within that Post Code
Continued poor crime ratings could well see an increase in insurance premiums quoted to  local commercial business especially the  retail trade, and may even feed through to all our own home insurance costs.
It is in all our interest to do all we can to bring crime down in our neighbourhoods. We all have a very good reason to ensure that we get on top of this surge in this particular crime.
If you know who regularly commits shop lifting ventures…please report them to the Police.
