Time to say ‘Bon Voyage’ to CRT!

I just want to flag up that I will be leaving The West Midlands Advisory Board of the Canal and River Trust. I will be one of four Board Members that are coming to the end of their second term of serving. My term actually expires on the 30th April 2022.

I have enjoyed my service to CRT , over the last 8 years. Particularly the fact that the Wyrley and Essington Canal has become the newest Local Nature Reserve in the City of Wolverhampton. This is something I am really proud of.
It is hugely popular as a canal and LNR, plus it is getting a great name for itself, with such a wide range of Mammals, to see from Fox to Badger to Otter. Great Waterfowl and rare wildflowers and water plants.

I am proud of my time with CRT. During which I started the Wednesfield Canal Festival. The Festival has grown since its launch, and despite being unable to operate last year because of Covid-19. We have met as a Group today to finalise the plans for 2022. I am so proud of the work I have done to promote this 232 year old canal. I will of course continue to have that close relationship with our canal in Wednesfield.

I want to thank the Local CRT Wolverhampton team, who have done so much for me to deliver a great, and getting better local canal. Good Luck to everyone involved in the West Midlands CRT. You are doing a grand job! Long may it continue.

My Last WM Advisory Board Meeting which I will be attending is Tuesday 22nd March 2022.
