Wolverhampton City Council Legal Department are preparing the notice of Court Hearing for the court to consider making an order to enable the Council to repossess the land. Once prepared The City Council will serve copies of the notice on all the caravans on site.
The City Council has also been in in contact with West Midlands Police who has expressed a wish that the Council carry out the repossession procedure quickly. In return the City Council has pointed out that the quickest method would be for the Police to issue a Sec 61/62 order.
For those members of the Public that have pointed out the fact that the bollards have been damaged allowing access to the site, this has also been logged with the Police, as have complaints relating to the travellers urinating and defecating within sight of neighbouring households and that there is likely to be a growing amount of fly-tipped refuse and litter.
City Council have Leisure standing by and suggested they arrange for repair of the bollards and clearance of any refuse left on the site asap following eviction to prevent further incursions.
With regard to the request that I made earlier tonight, with regard to residents logging the individual complaints.
The Local Police team requested that I ask that individuals report any issues with regard to the incursions over the next few days, and to do so by the 101 telephone number. So the Police management team and the duty Inspector can react to reports in real time.
With regard to the rumour that the Travellers will be saying for 6 weeks, that is a rumour and it is completely erroneous. That will not happen……
