Update 2 – Traveller Incursion Kitchen Lane Ashmore Park

 

Environmental Health who are leading for the City Council with regard to this issue revisited the site yesterday afternoon with West Midlands Police and carried out the required Needs Assessment. They spoke to a representative of the Travellers who was prepared to speak on behalf of the rest of the group.

She advised there were no medical needs in respect of any of the travellers or any associated requirements. She also intimated the reason for their presence was a broken cam belt to one of the vehicles and they would be leaving upon repair of the vehicle.

Today I have also spoken to a senior Officer  at Wolverhampton, Superintendent Fraser of West Midlands Police at 13.00 today.

He spoke of the importance of ensuring that residents knew that this matter was being treated seriously by the force. That the local Police team would continue to monitor the situation closely.
