Waiting for A Bin To be Collected?

During the last few weeks. I have had a couple of cases where residents are still waiting for their unwanted waste bins to be collected by the City Council.

I recently wrote about one such case and here is the response received. I thought it may help to explain the reason why this action is taking so long for some residents, still waiting for those bin removals. This is what the Manager wrote –

“During the last twelve months and continuing, Waste Services have managed our resources to ensure that front line collections continue despite the challenges posed by the Coronavirus Pandemic.

This has meant that some non-priority services have been delayed, such as the collection of unwanted bins.

This service will be resumed as soon as resources allow and I can assure you that your residents receptacles will be a priority at this time.

In the meantime, I would ask for patience and understanding in this matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any further enquiries.”

I hope that this helps to explain, that whilst we are moving back to a more normal situation. We are not quite there yet. The Pandemic is still having a huge impact on the City Council and as to the service organisation.
