Wednesfield North Cllrs Make Appeal Re India Protests

Councillor Phil Bateman said that over the week end I wrote on behalf of the three Wednesfield North Councillors (Councillor Mary Bateman, Councillor Rita Potter and Councillor Phil Bateman ) , on City of Wolverhampton Council.

I wrote to our Conservative MP Jane Stevenson urging her to press the British Foreign Secretary to do as much as they can to get the Indian Government to resolve the dispute with farmers without recourse “to any more violence.”

This is heart of the correspondence -“We have been approached by people in Wednesfield North who have strong connections with Punjab and India. We would urge you and the Foreign Secretary to do as much as you can, to ensure the Indian Government resolve the dispute swiftly and without any more violence.
Please press the Foreign Secretary Rabb on this matter. “

We obviously look forward to receiving their response, to our request swiftly.
