Just a briefing about the actions that I have taken over the last few days.
• I have reported two street lamps that are not working which Mary and I noticed whilst walking at night on Ashmore Park. If you live in Gilbert Close and Gadsby Avenue and two shadowy figures are caught on your cctv screens tonight. It was us two hunting down defective lights. They have now been both reported.
• I attended a scrutiny Panel at the City Council late this afternoon, and I engaged with Superintendent Inglis about the West Midlands Police and their activity. Superintendent Inglis gave a very detailed report on how the force were dealing with the Covid regulations. He also told us how difficult the period had been for the Police as a service. I pressed for another meeting with Superintendent Inglis, as I wanted to ask much more about Wolverhampton’s performance in dealing with Crime. Stats that I had showed that City of Wolverhampton performance when it came to Crime numbers were only second to Birmingham. The Superintendent agreed to attend another meeting so that the numbers could be explored in greater detail. I just need to win the City Council election to assured of attending!
• I have raised an issue of Mice infestation in a dwelling. What some may not realise, but Wolverhampton Homes do not deal with this sort of issue normally. This matter is usually left with the tenant to cleanse. However, because of some special circumstances? I have persuaded Wolverhampton Homes to join in the eradication process and give the tenant much needed help.
