I recently had a local resident asking questions relating to the Parking Bays constructed in Whitehouse Crescent. The question related to who could park in the spaces provided , and a supplementary question was also asked about the type of vehicle that had permission to park. Were there any restrictions that would stop vans from using the bays.
The answer came back from City Officials – “The parking bays in Whitehouse Crescent are designed to be a parking provision for local residents; however, because this area falls within the adopted Highway envelope they cannot be specifically ‘reserved’ for residents of Whitehouse Crescent and so are available for use by any member of the public.
Whilst the person parking their vehicle may not live in Whitehouse Crescent they are likely to live nearby.”
Consequently there are no powers to remove any specific vehicle. However If the vehicle is overhanging the carriageway, then it would be an issue for the West Midlands Police to deal with, as an obstruction issue.
I hope this information clarifies the parking arrangements in Whitehouse Crescent.
