Unemployment is still the scourge of Wolverhampton Communities and Neighbourhoods. We should remain very concerned about our local situation. Whilst Wednesfield North is not a community that has high unemployment. the statistics are still damaging for those families who are living with the ravages of unemployment and job seeking.
“The Wolverhampton unemployment rate is significantly higher than the rate for the wider West Midlands region. It is also higher than the local Black Country average (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton), and well more than double the national unemployment rate.”
As of April 2015, Wolverhampton has the second highest JSA claimant rate, at 4.4%, of all 326 English local authorities. Kingston–upon-Hull has a higher claimant rate than Wolverhampton at 4.7%.
Wednesfield North statistics are 2.6% and for Wednesfield South they are recorded at 3.8%
