Wuhan CoronaVirus Monitoring

I am grateful for the City Council in briefing City Councillors about the health scare, that is rooted in Wuhan in China. But which is causing much concern across the World.

The City of Wolverhampton briefing informs that – “There are currently no confirmed cases of Wuhan novel coronavirus in the UK. Health partners have been carefully monitoring the situation in Wuhan for some time and have put in place proportionate, precautionary measures. The risk to the UK population has been assessed as low.

Based on the emerging evidence regarding case numbers, potential sources and human to human transmission, the risk to travellers to Wuhan is moderate. The UK has updated its travel guidance to advise only essential travel to Wuhan. Our Public Heath team is closely monitoring the situation.

• You will no doubt have seen news reports about the emerging situation around the Wuhan novel coronavirus (WN-CoV) in China.

The latest information from Public Health England is as follows: There are currently no confirmed cases of Wuhan novel coronavirus in the UK.

I do hope that the residents in Wednesfield North will read and understand that there are safeguards in place. I will report on any changes that are reported to City Councillors.
