Wednesfield in Bloom – Our Years of Achievement.
Wednesfield in Bloom is a group of Volunteers who have done much for our Village in a very short period of time. They have been hard at work turning ‘grey’ areas of our Wednesfield Village into ‘green’ and then creating beautiful places. As the years have rolled on from the first year of formation in 2016. Many more volunteers have been added to our bloom team, and our ambitions have grown.
The highlight of our Volunteering is without doubt the reward of being awarded the HM Queens Award for Voluntary Service at the Hippodrome in Birmingham on Sunday 17th of October 2021.
This is the incredible record that we have gained in just six short years.
Our community takes great pride in the work that we do. Every year Wednesfield residents supports us with gifts of flowers and small donations. We have also gained support from Bentley Bridge Retail and Bentley Bridge Leisure Park, Wates the builders, and Wolverhampton Homes. All of whom have also been generous in these years of our actions. Its every ones engagement along with their financial donations and ‘in kind’ support, that allows every year our residents to see our environment improve. It also sees as a catalyst other residents enhancing their gardens, planting flowers in their streets and around street furniture, bringing that extra splash of colour that says this is a great place to live and work!
