Now how about this for a result! Last night at the Sandwell Labour Group Annual Dinner I had a chat with The Labour Party’s Deputy Leader Tom Watson. After exchanging pleasantries he told me that Sion Simon MEP was singing the praises of the Ashmore Park Nursery.
Sion had told Tom that he had recently visited the Ashmore Park Nursery and that ”it was a project that had genuinely inspired him” Tom went onto say “Sion was very complementary about the school and he has told me that I must go and see the work they are undertaking around digital learning for myself.”
The Deputy Leader of the Party is also MP for West Bromwich East, has long been a champion of all things digital: He was an early adopter of Twitter and one of the first MPs to write a blog.
So the role I have now is to arrange the visit of this very busy politician to Ashmore Park Nursery, the staff have just returned from a training visit to Stockholm in Sweden, where they along with the Swedish schools who are our partners in this digital revolution that the APN is leading, were involved in a training scheme.
It’s just great that our school and our Nursery children are getting so much national and international attention.
