Beating Covid-19 -Testing Station in Ashmore Park

This young man Jack Weaver, will meet and greet you if you attend the Hub at Ashmore Park for a Covid-19 test.

Jack was a member of the 30 or so volunteers that are staffing the newest Covid-19 testing station. We met Jack – when, Mary and I went for our Covid-19 test.

Jack (as a volunteer) had impressed so much that the company that is under contract at the site has taken him on as a full time employee! So out of his enthusiasm for volunteering – a full time position has been filled!

The Hub at Ashmore Park is hosting the Covid-19 testing station.

It has been open for a few days now, and it is attracting many of our constituents and others from across Wolverhampton. Locally here in Ashmore Park and Wednesfield the rate of Covid-19 infections, is higher than the National Average, and higher than the Wolverhampton average.

I would advise people living and working in Wednesfield to pop a long and get a test.

There was no queuing when we visited, we were in and out very quickly. Then as we took our morning walk, we received a text message informing, that both of us had texted negative. Just what we wanted to hear!

It took 10 minutes to register and take the test. Then in 20 minutes we had the result.

The Public Health Authority recommends that even if you have had a test and it resulted in a negative assessment. They urge that you have a regular test every 7 days.

Mary and I would like to encourage as many of our constituents as possible to go a long and take the test. Its local its fast and easy, and there is a great set of professionals and local volunteers ready to help and assist. We also just want to thank those local people for giving up their time to help defeat this Pandemic. Wednesfield folk are great at Volunteering!
