Bus Stop & Shelter – Bellamy Lane.

A site meeting was held in Bellamy Lane recently dealing with the Bus stop & Shelter in situation and adjacent to Orchard Road  – after it was placed under review by Centro.

Representatives from Centro & Wolverhampton City Council turned up as did local residents, and residents groups, and Local Councilllors representing both Wednesfield South and Wednesfield North.

The building development company who wants the stop & shelter moved, was also in attendance.

There was a long and sometimes full & frank discussion underway during this meeting. Residents wanted to see the Bus stop & Shelter remain in the same position it is in now. The housing company official wanted to move the facility away from their new homes.

Local Councillors made it very clear that they had written to Centro expressing the desire that the stop remain where it currently is. The Wolverhampton City Council Official agreed from a Highway Safety point of view, that the current location was safe.

The meeting broke up with the Chairman of the Residents Group basIMG_5992 Site meeting Bellamy Laneed in Orchard Road stating that it should stay in its current location, individual residents affected by the proposals to move the shelter spoke out for it to remain in its currents location, as did the six City Councillors representing the Wards of Wednesfield North and Wednesfield South.

Officials went away to come to a conclusion,  will keep you informed of any new developments via this page.
