I have been invited to a roundtable discussion Local Government Information Unit are hosting on the subject of Community Collaboration on Wednesday 22nd February (12.30-2.45pm) in London.
LGIU Write –
” As your positive impact in the community resulted in being nominated for a C’llr Achievement Award in 2016, we thought you might find this topic of particular interest.”

They went on to explain – ” We will be discussing how councillors can best help their community by encouraging local people and groups to take the lead on projects and issues that matter to them, and will be asking:
- How can councillors forge new and positive relationships with projects led by residents and community groups?
- What types of collaboration strategies are the most effective? And what are the main barriers to successful partnerships?
- How can councillors build community capacity and use their role to allow the council to make better use of community assets?
- How can councillors work with the community on solutions to the big challenges facing local government?
Full event details can be found below or on the website. We would be delighted if you are able to attend. “
Regular readers of this site will know I won the LGIU Communicator of the Year Award recently.
