Criminal’s Eye Up Goggles and strike at a Wednesfield Freight Yard.
40,000 pairs of swimming goggles were robbed and taken this week from a freight yard between Willenhall and Wednesfield.
If there is anyone locally that knows who is behind this robbery please tell the Police….
Clearly many people will think the crime with the Goggles is unusual if not a little bizarre!
But Freight crime is already is much too large in the UK. Evidence suggests that multi-million pounds of freight crime is taking place regularly right across the UK not just in Wednesfield.
What is required is for the Police and the freight industry to tackle what must be organised crime together. The theft of so many ‘Goggles’ must point to organised crime and that kind of makes this particular theft from Wednesfield that much more sinister if true.
The Home Office published the most recent official data on cargo theft in 2013, reporting 324,000 crimes had taken place nationwide in 2012. European statistics from Freight Watch International (FWI) now list the UK as the third worst place for cargo theft in Europe. We really have to improve on r
educing crime of this sort. If anyone has any information about this particular crime I would urge them to pass that information onto the police today!
