I thought that local residents and also parents of children at Oak Meadow School shoulld see this. I have been concerned about the lack of a crossing Patrol on Pracock Ave. I have been pressing the Authority to do more to get a replacement for the service. This is the latest set of correspondence.
“Dear Councillor Bateman, Due vacancies and sickness the current demand on our mobile school crossing patrols in very high. Our mobile school crossing patrol wardens are currently working on higher priority sites such as Birmingham New Road, Stafford Road and Cannock Road, as these are classified as higher priority sites based on our well established prioritisation system.
In the meantime, we will of course cover the school crossing patrol site on Peacock Avenue with mobile patrol cover, whenever we can, and we will continue to run recruitment campaigns to fill vacancies across the City.”
It is clear that the service is at breaking point- Hopefully the recruitment campaign will provide a crossing Warden permanently for this site.
