On the 6th May Explorer Cruises, will be gathering at Bentley Bridge at the start of their tour of Birmingham and Black Country Canals. The tour will be made up of Eleven Narrowboats and they will be overnighting here in Wednesfield. These boaters are really tourists, here to enjoy our lovely Wyrley and Essington Canal and the Local Nature Reserve here in Wednesfield as they start their own adventures on the wonderful canals of our region.
The Narrowboaters will be out and about in Wednesfield, please make them welcome if you see them. The ‘spending power’ they bring for our shops and restaurants is an important factor for Wednesfield. Plus their keenness to know our history is important to us, so that future cruises by this organisation, are encouraged to happen.
I will be meeting them to welcome them to Wednesfield as I have done in all the past years that we have been fortunate to attract the BCN organised Explorer Cruises.
