Food Distribution Hub-City of Wolverhampton Council

Councillor Phil Bateman Today said ” Its been a tremendous achievement for the City to transform our Aldersley Stadium complex into a Food Distribution Hub. Just look at what has happened in a few short days. Here is the results of that hard work by those involved. Not only the conversion in place but to set staff and volunteers, and get things rolling in the way that they arte,is just amazing. here are the details of the work they have done to bring help and relief to our historic City.This is the endeavours.”

The Food Distribution Hub continues to provide food parcels for vulnerable residents around the City.
450 parcels will have been delivered today Friday.
On Saturday 339 parcels for delivery with two production lines now in place packaging.

There have been no dropouts of volunteers since the hub began which demonstrates a great spirit amongst the volunteers.

To date as of 14:00 today, 914 food parcels have been delivered. 82 parcels have been delivered to people without 3 days food and 5 emergency boxes have been delivered to people without any food who have contacted the Food Distribution hub today.

There are currently 187,297 items in stock at the Food Distribution Hub and 1224 recipients registered on the service.

Councillor Bateman added “It makes you very proud of the ingenuity, and hard work that city officials and staff, along with volunteers have shown in creating this facility. All with an aim to combating the ravages of the Corona Virus, which as a Pandemic is sweeping the World as well as the UK.”
