On the 20th September at 12.21 I reported a faulty manhole cover at the corner of Clare Ave/Griffith Drive to Wolverhampton City Council, after resident Bob Jones alerted me following his constitutional yesterday morning.

Today at 8.31am I received this response from City Council Highways team –“Councillor Bateman “A Council Street Works Inspector visited this site yesterday afternoon and reported a surcharged to Severn Trent Water at 14:50 hrs. Severn Trent should have repaired the cover or made the area safe (pending a repair) within two hours. We will inspect this morning to ensure this has been done but if you hear otherwise please call me and I will chase it up with them.”
Thanks Bob Jones for reporting this, as you can see the City Council Highway Inspector concurred with your view, and attention was almost instantaneous! Hopefully the issue will be fully resolved in time for the next soaking we get this Autumn!
