Home With the Wolves! From The Councillor Phil Bateman Archives

With so much taking part over the last few weeks it has been hard keeping up with the events that we have attended.
Here are some photographs taken at the Wolverhampton Wanderers v Hull City game last Saturday. It was an unusual game for me to attend…..! The Wolves made the Mayoress and myself very welcome and for that I would like to thank them.Mary really enjoyed the day, and of course the Wolves are her favourite team…say no more! Oh the score 1-0 to the Wolves.
Photo’s include a presentation made in the hospitality room where Sir Jack Hayward presented Mr George Washington with a gift on his retirement from the Wolves. George had been the Commissionaire at the Club since 1982.We met George again at the VJ Day celebrations where he was again being lauded for his role defending the Crown against the Japanese. Here the Mayoress gazes over the football match from the vantage point in the Directors Box.
